アイ・ウェイウェイ Ai Weiwei
1957年、北京生まれ。78年、前衛芸術グループ「星星画會」を共同設立。81年から93年までニューヨークに在住。93年に帰国後、北京を拠点にアーティスト、キュレーター、建築家、デザイナー、批評家、またアクティビストとしても活動する。主なグループ展に、第1回/ 第2回広州トリエンナーレ(02/05年)、ビエンナーレ・オブ・シドニー(06年)、ドクメンタ12(07年)など。ヘルツォーク&ド・ムーロンとの協働で北京オリンピックスタジアム(鳥の巣)も手がけ、第 11 回ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ建築展(08年)にも協働参加。個展『何に因って?』森美術館(東京09年)、『So Sorry』ハウス・デル・クンスト(ミュンヘン)(09-10年)など。現在ロンドンのテイト・モダン、タービンホールにおいて大型コミッション作品を展示中。
